Is the 'high-concept' film going to be a focus on the test? I need some clarity on what this is exactly? And the dilemna mentioned in "how hollywood..." about it?
Bordwell goes over three different uses of the term in the intro to The Way Hollywood Tells It.
But for our purposes, think of it this way:
Beverly Hills Chihuahua
That would be an example of "high concept." It almost explains itself, in just a few words. It isn't dependent on stars for the basic appeal of the film (even though it has star voices, in this case).
